Since 1994, initiated a systematic study of mosses Tver region, collected during briofloristicheskih work materials were the basis of the herbarium moss. Collection of plants that pass the test of introduction in the territory of the Botanical Garden, were the basis for the creation of a herbarium introductions. In 1997, the structure of the Botanical Garden as an independent structural unit was isolated section of the Scientific herbarium. Began inseratsiya and design collections. In subsequent years, as a result of expansion of research expeditions, collections of exotic species replenishment herbarium funds have grown considerably. In the Herbarium collections are collections of Tver, Smolensk, Vladimir, Pskov, Leningrad and Moscow regions. The main emphasis in the formation of collections made on the rare and interesting species of natural flora, species, unique natural complexes and adventive plants of Tver region. In 2003, the Herbarium of the Botanical Gardens is registered in the Index Herbariorum with assignment acronym TVBG.
Funds have more than 12,000 herbarium specimens of vascular plants and about 3000 samples of mosses and are the basis for research studies on the biodiversity and plant introduction in the Tver region.
