One of the oldest parks in Tver is now next to the city hospital. This park was created in 1776 on the site of the monastery's land as a place of amusement.

Celebrated the 65th anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War (WWII). We stuck to the trees in our garden plaque in memory of this. These trees, together with our city, together with our people and our homeland suffered the hardships of war and suffered from the shelling.

The idea: to encourage people to learn more about the plants that grow in the city, about what role they play in human life and urban environment, think about how they feel in the city, whether they need help. Try to convey the idea that taking care of trees, especially those who grow up in cities and form the environment of our lives - a task that has no boundaries, relevant to all people wherever they live and whoever they are.

Target competition: the study and protection of trees in urban environments, the formation of an active role of citizens to create an enabling environment of life.

The objectives of competition: - to show the relationship between trees and humans;
- Strengthen links between generations in families;
- Strengthen the ties between families with educational institutions;
- Foster respect for trees and their habitats;
- Promote the development of cognitive activities in learning
wildlife;

- An inventory of old-growth trees in the city.

Conditions of participation:

- In the competition is open to family team inhabitants of Tver, without limitation of age, profession and social status;
- The object of the competition (the tree) should be located within the city of Tver, or in a residential suburb.

1 year of the competition

Official presentation of the competition Adopt a Tree! - Возьмите дерево в свою семью! - 24 February 2010

1. Stage - Registration: March, April, May, (on a single form).

Registration forms are accepted on the organizing committee, e-mail directly in the garden.

2. Step - Collecting information about the object of the contest and a description of bids: May, June (on a single form).

3. Stage - Analysis of the collected information, the identification and description of the problem (s). Making your project in the form of suggestions and ways to solve the problem: July, August, September.

Early July - Training Seminar for project participants: discussion of interim results, training and consulting on design of the project.


4. Stage - Wrap-up and evaluation of 1 year of the contest and awarding the winners and participants: October, November.

 

2 Year competition - Implementation of the contestants of project proposals. Exchange of information on the results of projects in other regions (Moscow, Tver, Russia; Minnesota, USA).

Participation in the second year of the competition is open to all participants 1 year.

Describe selected for the competitive project trees
(If we are talking about one tree then describe why you chose it).

 

  1. Where to grow a tree (the exact location and address).
  2. Name of the type of wood (fir, pine, linden, oak, etc.).
  3. Photo of the tree.
  4. Specify a local tree species, or does not grow in Tver and the Tver region in the wild, but was imported from other regions.
