Global Strategy for Plant Conservation - think globally, act locally

15.09.2013. Global Strategy for Plant Conservation - think globally, act locally. The second day of the Conference "Living in harmony: the botanical gardens and society - a dialogue without borders" open Chair of the Global Partnership for Plant Conservation, President of the Missouri Botanical Garden, Dr.  Peter Wyse Jackson. He focused his presentation on developing the role of botanic gardens in plant conservation. We are thankful to Dr. Peter Weiss Jackson for what he found in his busy work schedule the time and opportunity to visit our Conference. This shows great confidence in the work of our Community Garden and Botanical Gardens Russia. On this day, key speakers from the U.S., Russia, Estonia, Ukraine, spoke about the practical work of the gardens for the conservation of plant biodiversity. There was an opportunity to share the most advanced techniques in this field. The second day of the conference was not only rich, but also very interesting and especially the ordinary for formats that are generally similar forums. On the second day we still managed to make to the format of the Conference of the innovative approach. More precisely these ideas for overseas gardens are not uncommon. And we are very grateful to our long-term friends and partners - Landscape Arboretum Minnesota for training sessions on the organization of open interactive workshops in the gardens. On this day, it is such an interactive workshop for all participants was held in the Botanical Garden of Tver State University during the traditional family Harvest Festival. But this is a separate story :)). Too much fun it was! Rounding out the working part of the Conference also extraordinary. Some of the most outstanding specialists in organizing the work of botanical gardens and the maintenance of environmental activities in the world - Peter Wyse Jackson (Chair of the Global Partnership for Plant Conservation, President of the Missouri Botanical Garden), Peter Olin ( Director and Professor Emeritus of the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum ) , Ed Schneider ( Director of the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum ) , Judy Hohmann marketing manager of the Minnesota landscape Arboretum ) had a brilliant master class on administration and marketing in the botanical gardens . Each participant received a master class name for a certificate signed by the Secretary General at BGCI Sara Oldfield. Of course, the work was intense and tense. I really wanted to hear from the brilliant world-class specialists as many ideas and suggestions. But all good things must come to an end. Came to an end and the work of our Conference. Do all possible - to judge by our members. Garden and we tried. Managed importantly - a dialogue without borders! We are very grateful to all our colleagues, our friends, they are real! Thank you. Until next time!
